College students today exhibit signs of empathy and narcissism due to their upbringing with technology. While social networks allow for connection, they can also breed narcissistic behaviors like obsessive self-promotion. Born in the 80s and 90s, these students grew up with computers, cell phones, and cable TV. This exposure to constant stimulation and comparison online can impact their ability to empathize and form meaningful relationships offline. However, technology also enables acts of kindness and charity at a scale not possible before. Storytelling through media like film can help promote empathy in the digital age.
